Located on 160 acres just south of Michigan City off U.S. Highway 421, this 160-acre park opened June 29, 2002. Nearly 20 acres were turned over to the Parks Department from the Park Foundation for the development of multi-use trails for hiking and mountain biking, fishing, picnic areas, restroom facility, and a playground. Canada Lodge has been remodeled and the Park Administrative offices are now located in the Lodge. In addition, the Patricia J. Smith rental hall was dedicated in July and is available for rent.

The remaining parcel that the LaPorte County Park Foundation presently holds is host to a variety of wildlife. It includes a 108-acre State Dedicated Nature Preserve and headwaters to the Little Calumet River with 23 acres of wetlands and open water. The remaining property is presently in the planning and development stages.

There is not a map available for Red Mill County Park as it is today. For information on the park and available trails contact the Parks Department. There is also a geocache located in the park. To get more information on our geocache or other geocache locations click here.
