Parent and Child Discovery Days

(Luhr County Park)

6-7:15 pm at Luhr County Park
Ages 3-8
$5.00 A Child / Per Program
An adult is required to participate.
The program includes arts & crafts,games, snack, and more.
All activities are related to the program topic.
Pre-Registration is required one week before each program.

Senior Lifestyles FREE

Join the 55+ Club, a delightful social club designed specifically for adults ages 55 and older. Learn and explore many opportunities from health to gardening and balancing your active life. Come relax, enjoy nature, and have coffee or tea on the Parks with your new friends.

Luhr County Park Nature Center from 9 – 10 am monthly on Wednesdays. Call 219-325-8315 at least one week in advance to sign-up and assure a spot. Max 30 (Free Program)

Tuesdays at Luhr 9am - 12pm Ages 6-13
Parents are not required to participate or stay during the program. $8.00 per person / per program. All programs include arts and crafts.

Pet Fest in the Park – from Wags to Whiskers

FREE – no pre-registration
August 20 Luhr County Park 9 – 11:30am Rain or Shine

Is your pet itching to go on a walk in the park? Then you are bound to have a ruff- ruff bark of a good time! Our co-sponsor, The LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter along with many other animal vendors will have stations set-up along the trail with goodies. We will have many demonstrations, costume contest, obedience tips, adopt a new pet, animal photography, and much more. This is a great chance to meet and socialize with other pet lovers. All animals must be on a leash at all times and “oops” bags will be provided. Aggressive or female animals in heat are not allowed.

Scout Leaders

Free Environmental Education Programs are offered to groups throughout the year. The programs last one hour or longer depending on the group size and age. Programs can be scheduled at Creek Ridge Park, Luhr Park, Bluhm Park or Red Mill Park. Click here for more Information.
