Senior Lifestyles

Join the 55+ Club, a social club designed specifically for adults ages 55 and older. Learn and explore various types of nature at its best in the county parks. The weather outside might be frightful, but a social club sounds quite delightful! Come relax, enjoy nature, & have coffee on the Parks with your new friends.
At Red Mill County Park Smith Hall from 9 – 10 am on Wednesdays. Call at least one week in advance to signup & assure a spot. Call (219) 325-8315

Tuesdays at Red Mill County Park 9am - 12pm
Ages 6-13
Parents are not required to participate or stay during the program. $8.00 per person / per program. All programs include arts and crafts.

July 29 Nature Detectives at Pat Smith Hall-Use clues to unlock the mysteries of nature.
August 5 Eco- Education at Pat Smith Hall - We will explore the wetland, pond, forest, and prairie ecosystems and what makes each unique.
August 12 Geo- Tree and Me at Pat Smith Hall - Learn about trees using geocaching and a first person approach.
Pre-registration and payment is required one week before each program.

Pet Fest in the Park – from Wags to Whiskers
Moved to the Small Animal Shelter

FREE – no pre-registration

August 16 at Small Animal Shelter 9 – 11:30am Rain or Shine

Is your pet itching to go on a walk in the park? Then you are bound to have a ruff- ruff bark of a good time! Our co-sponsor, The LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter along with many other animal vendors will have stations set-up along the trail with goodies. We will have many demonstrations, costume contest, obedience tips; adopt a new pet, animal photography, and much more. This is a great chance to meet and socialize with other pet lovers. All animals must be on a leash at all times and “oops” bags will be provided. Aggressive or female animals in heat are not allowed.
